The Smith and Wesson CSX E-series flew under my radar a bit when it released earlier this year. I think it’s easy to mentally classify guns in this class of “micro-compact, high-capacity, carry guns” as just that, “just another one in the carry gun category”. But that just goes to show that no matter how many guns are released into this market, manufacturers are still finding ways to improve upon the design… even if that design itself is based off a nearly 120 year old design.

The CSX is one of those handguns that inspired confidence in my shooting, and supplemented my skills (or lack of) out on the range. I ended up spending a lot more time with this gun than I usually do just because I enjoyed shooting it so much. As much as we stay out of the realm of “product reviews,” it was impossible to conceal how much I liked this pistol, as seen in the video below… 

The Take:

This one is obviously a go from me, and that’ goes for pretty much everyone. It’s rare that I find a handgun that I can mentally apply to so many different applications.

We like to ASK our customers what it is they’re looking for when they come to purchase a new gun, and we get a ton of different conditions a gun has to meet and just as many applications it will be used for. I believe that this CSX will fit nicely into the vast majority of those needs. Whether you like the feel of a full-size gun but slowly getting some “carry-fatigue” strapping a 10 pound holster to your belt every day, a superfan of the single action only platform looking to implement that into your daily setup, or even a brand new shooter looking to get into a platform that provides enjoyment at the range and can grow with you while you figure out how you like to carry, I truly think this CSX could be for you.
